A fuller team chat: replies, pins, polls, one-way channels, your status and guest users

In team chat, reply to messages, pin them, run polls and see who has read what. Create private groups and one-way channels, set your own status, pause notifications for a few hours, and bring an outside contractor into a project as a guest.

What changed

Team chat

  • Reply and pin: answer any message directly and pin the important ones to the top.
  • Edit or delete a message until someone has seen it, and "Seen by" ticks to know who has read it.
  • Polls with one answer or several.
  • Three kinds of conversation: an open channel, a private group, and a one-way channel where only admins post (good for announcements).
  • Folders to sort conversations, a chat wallpaper from eight designs, and a push notification for new messages.

Team chat with a pinned message, a reply and a poll

My status and bookmarks

From the account menu set "My status" with a colour and a short message, such as "In a meeting until 4". Your status shows in the colleagues list. "Pause notifications" silences push for 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours. "Bookmark" tasks and chat messages to find them all on the "Bookmarks" page.

Setting "My status" from the account menu

Guest users

Give a customer or contractor outside the business the "Guest" role. A guest sees and works only in the projects they are added to: no customers, reports or team list, and they are not in team chat.

Video in online meetings

In voice meeting rooms you can now turn your camera on, and everyone's video shows in a grid.

How to use it

  1. Under "Work", open Team chat. For a new conversation press "New channel" and choose the "Kind of conversation".
  2. On any message press "Reply" or "Pin". For a poll press "Start poll".
  3. For your status, click your name. Under My status pick a colour, type the message and press "Save".
  4. For a guest, set the person's role to "Guest" in "Team management" and add them to the project.

Good to know

  • Meeting video works well for about four or five cameras at once.
  • Under the Mizito theme, "My status" and "Bookmarks" are not in the account menu; open Bookmarks from the "All apps" drawer.

Editing a gateway brings its form into view

On Payment gateways, Edit moves the page to that gateway's form, rings it for a moment, and puts the cursor in the first field. On a phone the form used to open off screen.
