Connect your own Google Calendar

Every member can connect their personal Google Calendar, so meetings set for them land on it. When you book a colleague, their free times are checked first and a busy time is refused.

What changed

Each member of the team can now connect their own Google Calendar. A meeting set for them, whether by themselves or by a colleague, is written onto it straight away. When the meeting moves or is handed to someone else, the event moves with it, and a cancelled meeting leaves the calendar.

When you set a meeting for someone else, the system checks their free times before booking. If they are busy at that time, the meeting is not set, and you see that day's busy stretches and free times so you can pick a free one with one click.

The Google Calendar connect screen

How to use it

  1. Open Profile from the account menu, or the Google Calendar page, and press Connect Google Calendar.
  2. Choose your Google account and leave calendar access ticked. Back in the panel you see Connected and the account you linked.

A connected Google Calendar

  1. On the appointments page (NabuBook), fill in Set a meeting: schedule, date, time, who it is with and the customer's name.
  2. Press Check free times to see the colleague's day. If you press Set the meeting for a time they are busy, it is refused, and you can pick one of the green free times instead.

Good to know

  • The feature works only once the server operator has set the Google credentials (client ID and client secret). Until then the page says it is not set up yet.
  • Colleagues only see when you are busy, never the titles or details of your other events.
  • For a colleague who has not connected Google, the meetings recorded in this business decide.
  • Only members of the same business can see each other's free times.
  • Disconnect removes access at any time; meetings already written to your calendar stay there.
